The National Palace Museum of Korea is a specialized repository and research institution devoted to artifacts from the Joseon royal court and the Korean Empire. Opened in 2005 in the Gyeongbokgung precinct, it preserves and presents royal culture through collections spanning court life, painting and calligraphy, ritual, vehicles, and scientific achievement.
